Certified translation and document legalisation in the UAE

Tagalog and Filipino translation services in the UAE

Philippine documents follow a tightly defined route: PSA-issued civil records, DFA authentication in Manila, then the UAE embassy — with a CAV from CHED on top if a professional licence is involved.

Almost all civil documents must be the PSA security-paper version, not a local civil registrar copy, and PSA records carry annotations that matter: a marriage annotated as annulled, a birth record annotated with legitimation, a late registration. Those annotations change the legal meaning of the certificate and have to appear in the translation, not be tidied away because they sit sideways in the margin.

Healthcare and engineering staff are a large part of this work, and for them the Certificate of Authentication and Verification from CHED, plus board certificates and PRC licences, matter as much as the diploma itself. DHA, DOH and MOHAP each ask for slightly different combinations. Tell us the licensing body at the outset and we will assemble the set they actually ask for rather than the generic one.

Questions we are asked

Is a local civil registrar copy enough, or do I need PSA?

PSA security paper is what UAE authorities expect. A local registrar copy is normally rejected, so it is worth ordering the PSA version before starting anything else.

What is a CAV and do I need one?

A Certificate of Authentication and Verification from CHED confirms your school and records are genuine. It is usually required for professional licensing in the UAE — DHA, DOH and MOHAP — and often for skilled work permits.

My PSA certificate has annotations in the margin. Do they get translated?

Yes, in full. Annotations about annulment, legitimation or late registration change what the document means, and omitting them is the fastest way to have a file rejected or, worse, accepted and challenged later.
