Document retrieval in Dubai
When the original is lost, was never collected, or sits in an archive in a country you left years ago, the file cannot move until a fresh copy exists. We obtain replacement documents from civil registries, courts, universities and company registers in most countries.
Working in Dubai
Dubai runs two parallel legal systems, and the paperwork differs between them. Onshore matters go through Dubai Courts in Arabic, where a Ministry of Justice legal translation is mandatory. DIFC operates in English under its own common-law court, which changes what needs translating and when.
Most of our Dubai work comes from three directions: free zone companies in DMCC, DAFZA and Dubai Internet City preparing corporate documents for overseas parents or banks; law firms filing in Dubai Courts; and residents dealing with visa, property and family matters that need attested certificates from their home country.
Document retrieval
The common requests are civil status records — birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates — followed by company register extracts, land registry records, court judgments, police certificates and academic transcripts. Some registries release records only to the person named or a next of kin, some require a locally granted power of attorney, and a few still work by post only. We establish which applies before taking the job.
Retrieval pairs naturally with the rest of the chain. Rather than sending you a certificate and leaving you to start again, we can retrieve it, translate it, and run it through legalisation as one instruction, which removes the courier legs between steps.
Where a record genuinely does not exist, we say so and provide whatever the authority will issue instead — a certificate of no record, an archive statement — which is frequently enough to satisfy the body asking.

Which countries can you retrieve documents from?
Most of Europe, the Americas, South and South East Asia, the Middle East and much of Africa, through our own offices and a partner network. Send us the details and we will confirm feasibility and timing before you commit.
Do you need a power of attorney?
Some registries require one, some accept a signed authorisation letter, and some will release records to any applicant. We tell you which at the outset and prepare the document if one is needed.
How long does retrieval take?
From a few days where a registry has an online service, to several months where records are held in paper archives. We give a realistic range up front rather than an optimistic one.
Can you legalise the document once you have it?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper and faster to instruct both together than to handle them as separate jobs.
