Certificate and degree attestation in Dubai
Almost every skilled employment visa in the UAE requires an attested degree, and professional licensing bodies in health, engineering, law and education add requirements of their own. The process starts in the country that issued the certificate, not here.
Working in Dubai
Dubai runs two parallel legal systems, and the paperwork differs between them. Onshore matters go through Dubai Courts in Arabic, where a Ministry of Justice legal translation is mandatory. DIFC operates in English under its own common-law court, which changes what needs translating and when.
Most of our Dubai work comes from three directions: free zone companies in DMCC, DAFZA and Dubai Internet City preparing corporate documents for overseas parents or banks; law firms filing in Dubai Courts; and residents dealing with visa, property and family matters that need attested certificates from their home country.
Certificate and degree attestation
The usual sequence is verification by the issuing institution, authentication by the education ministry or an approved agency in that country, legalisation at the UAE embassy there, then MOFAIC attestation in the UAE. Several countries insert extra steps — a notary, a chamber, a specialist verification body — and the UAE Ministry of Education may require an equivalency certificate separately.
We manage the whole sequence from the UAE, including the parts that happen abroad, so you are not trying to instruct a university registrar in another time zone while your visa clock runs. Where the awarding institution has closed, merged or changed name, we work with the successor body or the national archive to obtain a verifiable record.
Attestation is the step most likely to delay a job start date. If you have an offer letter with a deadline on it, tell us the date when you enquire and we will be explicit about whether it is achievable.

Questions we are asked
Why does my employer need my degree attested?
UAE immigration and labour authorities use attestation to confirm the qualification is genuine and was awarded by a recognised institution. Skilled-category work permits are generally not issued without it.
My university has closed. Can the certificate still be attested?
Often yes, through the successor institution, the national education ministry or a state archive. It takes longer, and we will tell you what evidence is available before you commit.
Do I need an equivalency certificate too?
It depends on your profession and the licensing body involved. Equivalency is a separate application from attestation and we can handle both together.
Can this be done while I am outside the UAE?
Yes. Much of the chain happens in the issuing country anyway. We can begin before you arrive and complete the MOFAIC step once the document is here.
