Certified translation and document legalisation in the UAE

Certified translation in Ajman

A certified translation carries a signed statement that it is a complete and accurate rendering of the original. It is what immigration authorities, universities, licensing bodies and employers ask for when they say a translation must be "official".

Working in Ajman

Ajman Free Zone has built its position on low-cost company formation, which means a high volume of new licences, and every new licence eventually produces documents that need translating or legalising — memoranda of association for a foreign shareholder, board resolutions for a bank, licences for an overseas parent company.

The emirate's residential districts sit within easy reach of Sharjah and Dubai, and much of our personal-document work here involves families completing visa, schooling and property files while working elsewhere in the northern corridor.

Certified translation

Requirements differ by the body receiving the document, not by the country it came from. A UK university may accept a translation certified by any professional translator; a UAE residency application will not. We ask who the document is going to before we quote, and we certify to that recipient's standard rather than to a generic one.

Personal documents are the bulk of this work: birth, marriage and death certificates, divorce decrees, police clearance certificates, academic transcripts and diplomas, driving licences, bank statements, medical reports and vaccination records. Each is delivered as a signed PDF for immediate filing, with hard copies couriered where the receiving body insists on wet ink.

If the same certificate will be used in more than one country, say so. We can certify once and produce additional issued copies later without re-translating, which is materially cheaper than starting again.

Questions we are asked

What makes a translation "certified"?

A signed certificate of accuracy attached to the translation, naming the translator or agency and confirming the translation is complete and faithful to the original. We add the stamps and licence details the receiving authority expects.

Do you need the original document?

For most certified translations a clear scan is enough. Legalisation and attestation are different — those usually require the physical original or a certified true copy.

Will a certified translation be accepted outside the UAE?

Usually, though some countries add their own requirement such as a sworn translator registered locally. Tell us the destination country and we will confirm before you pay.

Can I get extra copies later?

Yes. We retain your file and can issue additional certified copies without re-translating.

Do you serve clients in Ajman?

Yes. We handle Certified translation for clients in Ajman, with collection and delivery in Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Jurf, Ajman Corniche. Send a scan of the document and we will come back with a fixed price and a realistic date.

Prices vary by document, language pair and receiving authority, so we quote rather than publish a rate card. Most enquiries are answered within one working day.
